Phone Locking Mechanism For FPV Racing Goggles

This is the phone locking mechanism I’ve designed for my First Person View (FPV) racing goggle university project.  On the left is the initial test piece and on the right the final test piece.  A clockwise twist will lock the phone into position and when you want to release it, press the button and rotate it anti-clockwise.  Simples!  To use that is, designing it all to fit into a headset and accommodate several phone sizes… not so simples.

3D Print Your Knob

That got your attention!  No, I’m talking about the knob on my pinhole camera.

2015-01-15 13.47.57I designed and 3D printed the spool adapter and winder for my Pinhole Moments camera.  The spool is a standard spool that you get with any 120 film.  I designed the winder so there is a force fit that is strong enough to lock into position but easy enough to remove without Hulk-smashing the cardboard pinhole camera upon removal.
