Artificial Intelligence in Cute Robot Form

Life imitating art..? Reminds me of the 2012 film Robot & Frank. Then again this technology has been under development over many years under many guises. Gradual technological advances in consumer products have conditioned us to accept artificial intelligence without question, or at least none to stop our quest of becoming a digital God. It will be interesting to see how we can utilise intelligent tech to enhance our lives and connect ourselves emotionally to our gadgets –

The Void – 4D Augmented Reality Gaming

I’ve always been fascinated by Augmented and Virtual Reality; the ability to completely immerse yourself in something that can appear so real.  Well I’m happy to see it get taken to the next level in such a cool way.  Check this video out and tell me you don’t want to have a go!

Be Safe, Be Seen! Volvo LifePaint

Invisible by day and reflective by night under the glare of headlights, Volvo’s LifePaint is an excellent way to be safe and seen.  As a cyclist and driver, I am all too aware of the difficulties and dangers faced during a night ride.  LifePaint is a new solution to improving the safety of cyclists during the dark hours.

To be honest I think it looks pretty cool in this video.  I’m interested to see how users can get creative with LifePaint, transforming their bikes and clothing into eye-catching works of art.

What do you think?  What other applications could LifePaint be applied to?  Let me know in the comments below.  Safe cycling!

Where Did the Term ‘Mullet’ Come From?

So apparently the Beastie Boys coined, and definitely popularised the term ‘mullet’ when they released this rather kick-ass track in 1994.
A few people I’ve spoken to say they’re sure they had heard the term before 1994, but either way it further cements the legends that are the Beastie Boys into the history of awesomeness.  So let’s ‘cut the sides, don’t touch the back’ while we throw out hair around to this one.

Do you have any interesting stories about the history of phrases and terminology? Let us know in the comments.
